Chronoswiss is unanimously recognized as the regulator specialist. Born in 1983, the brand quickly made this historical display its hallmark, with most of its collections based on this display that refers to the old days of watchmaking. Since then, Chronoswiss has been working hard to give this display a modern look, yet remaining true to […]
We got our first look at the Chronoswiss Open Gear ReSec at Baselworld 2019 and were impressed with its bold styling and integration of retrograde seconds to the regulator set-up. The guilloché dial stood out with a three-dimensional “solar” pattern that really caught the light and added to the busy look (certainly not in a […]
Chronoswiss has been manufacturing regulator wristwatches since 1987 and this ‘complication’ (or at least this specific display) has become a genuine trademark for the Lucerne-based manufacturer. A couple of years ago, Chronoswiss presented a modern 3D take on this traditional display with the Flying Regulator Open Gear. Today we are going hands-on with a bold yellow / black hand guilloché dial limited edition of the model.
Well-executed dials, decorated with classic Grand Feu enamel or elaborate guilloché, can add thousands to the price and define the character of a piece; however, there are times when the sheer absence of a dial can result in the most intriguing aesthetic. André-Charles Caron, legendary clockmaker for Louis XV of France in the mid-18th century, […]

If a regulator wristwatch comes up in conversation, odds are that Chronoswiss is a part of it. The brand was first to produce a regulator wristwatch in series with the Régulateur, a simple and elegant piece that led to the company’s signature style. Rare examples of regulator wristwatches existed prior to this, but none were […]
We recently went hands-on with the new Chronoswiss Regulator Classic collection, first introduced at Baselworld 2019 as a slight evolution of the original Regulator Classic. A new model has now joined the line with motorsport inspiration and a speedometer vibe, injecting a bit more adrenaline into the already edgier new pieces. With new dial elements […]
Chronoswiss unveiled a new collection of regulators at Baselworld 2019 with three dial options and two case sizes, totalling six pieces to choose from. These are evolutions of the original Classic Regulator line with updated dials, hands, cases and bracelets, taking on new personalities without abandoning the original formula. The new watches have a sportier, […]
Chronoswiss and regulators are synonymous these days. The company was the first to introduce this style on production wristwatches back in 1987 and has built a brand identity around it. That’s not to say that three-hand and chronograph pieces don’t exist (they’re alive and well in the Sirius and Timemaster collections), but regulators have become […]
Regulators have been a Chronoswiss trademark for over 30 years. Inspired by yesteryear precision master clocks, their characteristic display separates time indications for precision time reading. The Lucerne-based watchmaker has designed various iterations of this traditional watch type, and now present a 50-piece limited edition in bright electric blue.
