Pre-Baselworld 2019 – Anonimo Nautilo Vintage – More Retro-Styled and Smaller

A brand built on the ashes of the Italian branch of Panerai, founded by a naval engineer and former head of the aforementioned watchmaker, is obligated to have a dive watch in the collection. For over 12 years now, the Nautilo has been part of the Anonimo line-up in various guises – see here, here or here. New for 2019 and launched as a preview to Baselworld is a more retro – or vintage-inspired – take on their cool Nautilo, with the Anonimo Nautilo Vintage. And good news for a lot of people: it’s smaller!

While the link between Anonimo and the world of Sea or military forces is relatively easy to catch, the brand has started recently to explore new horizons. For instance, the Florentine brand has partnered with the FIA World Rally Championship to create the Militare Chronograph WRC Special Edition. Today, it’s their connection with racing bikes that is highlighted, as Anonimo is now partner with the Leopard Racing team. But you’ll see, Italy is never far away.

Literally every watch brand came on the market with a blue version of one of their bestsellers. Well, trends come and go and it seems that green is slowly becoming a thing. Following this tendency, Anonimo brings a fresh-looking green version of their latest creation, in the name of the Anonimo Epurato Verde Natura.

Hands-on – Anonimo Brings New Summer Editions of the Nautilo With Blue Dials

It’s been 12 years since the first Nautilo dive watch was developed by Dino Zei, naval engineer and former 25-year head of Panerai, and a couple of new editions have arrived for the summer. The theme this year is blue, which is fitting for a naval-inspired dive watch, and they follow the design refresh we saw last year in conjunction with Anonimo’s 20th Anniversary. The Italian brand has been fairly consistent with their cushion case designs for the Nautilo line with crowns at 4 o’clock, but the dials have evolved over time. The summer editions bring color changes to the dials with new ceramic bezels but maintain the no-nonsense diver’s tool aesthetic from previous generations.

Introducing – Anonimo Epurato Safari

Prior to Baselworld 2018, Anonimo, the Italian brand founded on the roots of what was left of Panerai when Richemont took over it, presented a new, more casual watch: the Epurato. As indicated by its name, the brand wanted to go back to the essential, with a cleaner, slightly dressier and easier-on-the-wrist timepiece. Rather successfully received, today two new versions, with DLC-coated cases and sand-coloured accents are introduced, under the name Anonimo Epurato Safari.
