After we’ve taken a closer look at five very cool watches that put the Earth on your wrist one way or another just last week, this time around we move over to our nearest neighbour, the Moon. This satellite of our beautiful planet has been there forever and has guided us through time on our […]

Buying Guide – Putting The World On Your Wrist With These Five Watches

Witnessing the entire splendour of our Planet Earth in one single glance is reserved for Astronauts and Cosmonauts only. And I’m pretty sure most of us will never be able to view our home planet from outer space, despite the rise of commercial space flights. However, there is a way to carry Earth with you […]

Introducing – Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon Obsidian

While not a new watch, the Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon remains one of the most fascinating moon-phase watches on the market, thanks to its oversized lunar indication – certainly one of the largest currently available. In addition to this prominent astronomical complication, the Perpetual Moon has often been used to display beautifully crafted dials, […]

Introducing – Arnold & Son Nebula 38, now in Stainless Steel

In 2018, Arnold & Son presented a smaller version of one of its most striking watches, a watch that was built with symmetry, balance and structure in mind: the Nebula. Based on the concept introduced in its extremely complex Constant-Force Tourbillon watch, this watch was designed with the same sense of aesthetics in mind, yet […]

Baselworld 2019 – Arnold & Son Nebula 38mm – Smaller Proportions, Same Spectacle

The vogue for smaller watch case sizes has sent a clear message to watchmakers who are re-editing their most popular timepieces in more contained, classic diameters. Arnold & Son, the Swiss brand with the British surname – which specialises in modern interpretations of heritage pieces with a marked penchant for symmetry and complexity – has […]

Introducing – Arnold & Son Time Pyramid Black Edition

One of the main points of interest of Arnold & Son timepieces has always their uniquely skeletonized movements, based on an almost perfectly symmetrical design. Whether you take ultra-complex pieces such as the Constant-Force Tourbillon or the Tourbillon Chronometer N° 36, or more simple pieces like the Nebula, most of the brand’s creations please the eye simply because of this symmetry. One of the most striking designs of this manufacture, the well-known Time Pyramid, is another demonstration of such savoir-faire, and it now comes in a new Black Edition.

Hands-On – Arnold & Son DBG Skeleton Dual-Time – With (Almost) Two Movements in One Watch

Symmetry in the construction of the displays and movements have always been a huge part of Arnold & Son’s DNA. In their case, the design doesn’t drive the development of the movement, but the opposite. See for instance the Constant Force Tourbillon, the Nebula or the Time Pyramid and you’ll see how symmetry influenced the brand. Playing on this same concept, the brand pushed the idea even further, by having a watch with two entirely separate time displays, driven by an incredible twin-movement. And in order to enjoy this mechanical feast, a new version, the Arnold & Son DBG Skeleton, exposes all its entrails in a demonstrative but elegant way.

Pre-Baselworld 2017 – Arnold & Son Tourbillon Chronometer No. 36, A Tribute To Historical High-Precision Chronometers (With a Great Pricing)

With the Basel watch fair opening its doors in a few days, pre-Baselworld novelties are now coming daily in our emails – and one surprised us, in a very good way, the Arnold & Son Tourbillon Chronometer No. 36. Symmetry and open-worked movements are essential in Arnold & Son’s collection but not only. Precision, as we’ve seen with the massively impressive Constant Force Tourbillon (that we properly tested), is also key (yet with a hefty price). But if you look for all of that, at a much more accessible price, the Tourbillon Chronometer No. 36 will certainly tick a few boxes…
