Baselworld 2017 – Porsche Design Monobloc Actuator 24H-Chronotimer – Hands-on with Photos, Specs and Price

The history of Porsche Design is intertwined with the legendary car brand that sprouted from the same creative mind, Ferdinand Adolph Porsche. Since the very beginning the link between Porsche Design watches and motorsports was there, and not just as a marketing link. No, Porsche Design’s first wrist watch, the Porsche Design Chronograph 1, was a black PVD coated watch and that was rather disturbing back in the early seventies. And so was the chronograph that the brand introduced in 1980, which was the world’s first chronograph in titanium – a material widely used in the watch industry now-a-days, but a few decades ago it wasn’t. Today we’re showing you Porsche Design’s latest watch that is again inspired by the world of motor sports, and in this case directly links to the brand new (mighty) Porsche 911 RSR. However it also strongly reminds us of that very first Titanium Chronograph from 1980. Let’s have a look at the new Porsche Design Monobloc Actuator 24H-Chronotimer.

Baselworld 2017 – The Bell & Ross BR-RS17 Trilogy (with Renault Sport F1)

Recently, Bell & Ross announced the renewal of their partnership with Renault Sport F1 – that CEO Carlos Rosillo explained to us in details – by introducing a new watch, the BR03-94 RS17 Chronograph. In order to capitalize on this new race-car line of watches, something that was, at first, not the territories we imagined for the brand (more used to military and aviation pieces), Baselworld 2017 will see the launch of a entire collection, the Bell & Ross BR-RS17 Trilogy – 3 watches entirely dedicated to the Renault Sport F1 theme.

Baselworld 2017 – Frederique Constant Flyback Chronograph Manufacture (Their First In-House Chrono Explained With Exclusive Video)

Believe us or not, but this watch is a massive development for Frederique Constant. Indeed, creating a chronograph movement is far from being a simple move. It is even one of the most feared development for a watchmaker, as the chronograph can be seen as one of the most complex types of complication, even if it’s a widely used one. Today, as Baselworld 2017 opens its doors, we take a close look at the new Frederique Constant Flyback Chronograph Manufacture, the first in-house chronograph of the brand, explained in video by Pim Koeslag (Head of Watchmaking) and with live photos.

IWC Introduces a Completely New Ingenieur Collection, With Vintage-Inspired Designs

Last year, same moment of the year, same place, IWC introduced what we thought would remain some limited edition watches, the 3 Ingenieur Chronograph Special Editions for Goodwood. Well, it seems that reactions of collectors were good – and we have to agree with them, these watches, with their vintage-inspired design, echoing the first versions of the Ingenieur, and their brand new in-house chronograph movement, had some arguments. Based on these concepts, it’s now an entire collection of retro-inspired Ingenieur watches (automatic, chronographs, QP…) that IWC is about to introduce at the 2017 Goodwood Members’ Meeting.

Pre-Baseworld 2017 – Omega Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer (Specs, Availability & Price)

This year, one of the most iconic watches ever created will celebrate its 60th anniversary. Its name: the Speedmaster. As you can imagine, with such a long history and so many iconic versions, every new Speedmaster carries the spirit and design inspiration of the models that came before. As a preview of the future collection that will come at Baselworld 2017, the Biel-based brand shows this concept with the new Omega Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer, with a dial that refers to a 1968 Speedmaster model (the Racing-Dial Speedmaster), yet with modern size and features.

Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Aérolithe Performance – A Bold Automative-Inspired Creation

The Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Aérolithe Performance is an automative-inspired watch, a specialty of the Fleurier-based brand, inspired by another mythical car of the no less mythical brand Bugatti. Mythical because this magnesium car (completely unusual back the days) remained at a prototype stage and lasted for a very short period. The watch we have today is much more concrete and has some desirable features and a bold design to offer. Here is the Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Aérolithe Performance.
