It’s the same steel 42mm Oris Divers Sixty-Five that we saw at Basel, but with an unexpected new twist – a green dial.

Since we did one of our first survey’s among you, our readers, we heard that you love our selection of high-end to ultra high-end watches. However you would also like to see an affordable watch from time to time, and we completely understand that. Like with cars, we all love Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Koenigsegg, Pagani, Aston Martin and of course Porsche. These super cars are admired by many, and driven by a few. The same goes for watches and while admiring the watch-equivalent of super cars, most of us wear a great daily beater. Yesterday we showed you a new watch brand, named Objest, that is launching through Kickstarter, and today we’re showing you another one. Here’s the Hamtun H1, a very affordable and great looking dive watch!
Monaco… The French Riviera, the pleasant weather, James Bond, the sea, the Casino, the luxurious cars and nice ladies! Certainly one of the most attractive places to spend some relaxed time. And above all, there are the super-yachts. Now, if you ask me what would be the watch that best defines this world, I’d easily say a Ulysse Nardin. In fact, i’m not that far from the truth and as a proof, here is a new limited edition, the Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronograph Monaco, which celebrates the collaboration of the brand with the Monaco Yacht Show. Overview.
Omega managed to exceed my expectations when I finally got my hands on the first ceramic-cased Planet Ocean which I’m reviewing here today. Debuted a few months after Baselworld 2016, the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT “Deep Black” carves yet another niche within the brand’s larger line of high-end Seamaster Planet Ocean diving watches.
On paper, the Oris Diver Sixty-Five’s eccentric design language seemed an odd first choice for a nü-vintage remix, but its relative affordability, conservative dimensions, and faithful attention to the detail from the quirky source material have proven to be the winning formula for Oris. So much so, the secret sauce has quickly been re-tapped for fresh color options, an all-new 42mm rendition with more traditional applied indices, and now this – a subtly revised special edition built in extremely limited numbers exclusively for Topper Jewelers.
Despite having a design that has remained largely unchanged since its initial introduction in 1954, Rolex’s Submariner watches – especially well-preserved vintage references – frequently receive the most attention (and brings in the highest prices) at auction.
It is only one-and-a-half year ago. That’s when Oris introduced the Divers Sixty-Five, a new kid on the “vintage diver’s watches block”, and collectors around the world embraced this very cool, and very affordable, vintage inspired divers watch. After the first model, with similar hour markers as an old Oris from 1965, a second model …
Launching a watch brand is not that simple, mainly because you have to face an established industry, with its brands, its suppliers and its habits (and some are secular ones…) The watchmaking industry was extremely difficult with newcomers, until our 2.0 era brought to small independent people, however full of ideas, a process called crowdfunding. E.C.Andersson is among them, with the idea of a sporty pillow-shaped watch with a smaller size than the most famous of all the pillow watches (a certain Officine…), with mechanical movement, for a low price and with nice design. Here is the E.C.Andersson North Sea.
In an effort to reign in the past while continuing to offer pieces that catch the eye of modern watch buyers, Longines has built up a legitimate offering through their Heritage Collection. Whether you’re looking for a diver or a Weems, there are quite a few choices that seem to be placed above the usual options you have when looking at the brand.
Under the leadership of Jean-Claude Biver, TAG Heuer has been making some moves that are helping to reenergize the brand. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer keeps getting better, and these new models improve on the previous version with cool black PVD titanium cases and hip, vibrant colors.
