A few days ago, our boss Frank spotted something rather surprising on Instagram, some new, never-seen-before editions of super-cool Seiko Prospex watches, published here by Seiko Watch USA. Well, for most brands, new limited editions won’t be a super-big piece of news. But here, we’re talking about Seiko Prospex and some new editions, especially because it includes the “Turtle” and the “Samurai”, are something that will definitely create some buzz inside collectors’ circles. So, as a preview of what will be showed at Baselworld 2017, here are the Seiko Prospex Turtle SRPB11 and Samurai SRPB09 Blue Lagoon Limited Editions.
In a recent piece of news, Oris announced a new iteration for the 42mm Divers Sixty-Five. While this model already exists in blue or green, it now comes with a rather unexpected dial, which even if strongly playing on the usual vintage theme of the collection (and maybe even more now) is featuring a silver color, something rather unusual for a dive watch. Well, this Oris Divers Sixty-Five Silver Dial was clearly requiring to be seen in the metal (no press photo can give credits to a watch), something we did during the brand’s pre-Baselworld Preview where we already saw the Oris Altimeter Rega Limited Edition. Founded in the late 1990s, Anonimo combines Swiss precision with rugged Italian sports chic, producing highly functional watches with a robust, modern feel. Among their latest collections – and a favorite within the Monochrome team – the Nautilo Sailing Edition is an attractive red-black dive watch inspired by the marine background of the brand. It was released in the frame of a sailing partnership as Anonimo has teamed-up with SFS headed by skipper Lionel Péan.
I am not shy about my feeling that these days Blancpain produces some of the most beautiful high-end diving watches available in their Fifty Fathoms family. The collection is populated with a few distinct models which generally fall into the “classic” Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 5015 watch family, and the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe.
I never assumed that a world timer dive watch would be useful, but consider the fact that it is popular enough for Ball watches to have produced a second run of them. It was several years ago that Ball originally released the Ball Engineer Master II Diver Worldtime, and earlier in 2016 they came out with a slightly tweaked version.
Revealed at Baselworld 2016, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300 Caliber 5 Titanium WAY208C reference seemed a fitting match for a trek up the canyon, whose rugged outcroppings are cleaved in two by the meandering waters of Clear Creek. This stealthy “desert diver” was a quiet addition to TAG Heuer’s 2016 Baselworld announcements.
First produced in 1970 and later relaunched in 2009, the Omega Seamaster Ploprof 1200M Co-Axial Master Chronometer – as it is today called – is one of the world’s most unique and, yes, iconic dive watches. It quite remains the read more…
