Only Watch 2017 – Frederique Constant Manufacture Perpetual Calendar With Unique Meteorite Dial

As the month of July flies by, we continue to explore the different watches that charity auction Only Watch 2017 has to offer. We already saw impressive watches, exclusively developed to help research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy – and this is not over yet. Part of the 48 brands to participate is Frederique Constant, which has decided to tweak its flagship watch, the Manufacture Perpetual Calendar, by giving it a unique meteorite dial… And what was the most affordable QP on the market will certainly (and hopefully) loose its title with this edition.

VIDEO – Frédérique Constant, Visiting the Manufacture and Understanding the “Affordable Luxury” Concept

Within the last 10 years, Frédérique Constant has gained massively in popularity. And it is justified. Indeed, the brand has created a clever strategy of “affordable luxury“, in which collectors must receives a lot for what they paid for. While many other brands would do so by encasing out-sourced movements, Frédérique Constant has chosen the complex path of independence, by developing their own movements, yet with prices that should slightly scare the competition. In order to fully understand this brand’s strategy, as well as its past and its future, we’ve decided to head over Geneva and to visit their manufacture. And here is our video report.

Elegant Yet Accessible – Frederique Constant Classic Manufacture with Black Dial

Sports watches have a certain appeal, a definitive coolness that makes them desirable. Yet, there’s a moment in your life, or simply your environment, where such a timepiece is not relevant anymore. At a certain point, every gentleman needs an elegant and dress watch. If the envy or the need are here, this is not always the case for the money… This is why we wanted to show the Frederique Constant Classic Manufacture with Black Dial. Extremely elegant, refined, mechanically interesting and yet, rather accessible.

Hands On With The Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture Brown Dial

It sounds cliché but the Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture Brown Dial really is a great watch for the money. The combination of the practical functionality of a world-timer complication with a rich rose gold plated and brown aesthetic makes for a very distinctive looking watch that’s sure to make a statement on your wrist without wreaking too much havoc on your actual bank statement. As with all Frederique Constant pieces however, there’s more to this watch than meets the eye.

Baselworld 2017 – Frederique Constant Flyback Chronograph Manufacture (Their First In-House Chrono Explained With Exclusive Video)

Believe us or not, but this watch is a massive development for Frederique Constant. Indeed, creating a chronograph movement is far from being a simple move. It is even one of the most feared development for a watchmaker, as the chronograph can be seen as one of the most complex types of complication, even if it’s a widely used one. Today, as Baselworld 2017 opens its doors, we take a close look at the new Frederique Constant Flyback Chronograph Manufacture, the first in-house chronograph of the brand, explained in video by Pim Koeslag (Head of Watchmaking) and with live photos.

Pre-Baselworld 2017 – Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture Brown Dial

We told you several times, the Word-Time complication is certainly the best answer to the issues of current business habits. Many of us are frequent travelers or work in an international environment, switching timezones (virtually or literally) more often than we change shirt. The need for a watch that displays multiple time-zones has never been so high. However, as we’ve seen, World-Time watches can go from quite accessible to insanely expensive. For that, Frederique Constant has a nice offer, affordable for sure, but also full of technical content (in-house movement and module, interesting way to adjust…); the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture. For Baselworld 2017, this watch will be introduced in a pink gold plated / brown dial combination.
