The Ingenieur collection has traditionally been IWC’s answer to the tool watch. It shot to fame and became an icon during the Gerald Genta era. Together with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus, the IWC Ingenieur was as its name suggests, a robust, non-cosmetic tool watch. The “5 Cool Finds” are back, however with a few changes… the biggest one being is that we changed to a new, more reliable partner whom we have a profound trust in: Chronext. We already explained to you all about this London-based online marketplace for buying, selling, and servicing of luxury watches – and here, online goes together with the same security and service as any high-end boutique (for more details – and the possibility to win a 2016 Rolex Explorer – please look here). What about the “5 Cool Finds”? Simple: 5 watches, not new, not vintage, most of the time young-timers (that we believe are the new trend) that we selected for you. More than 400 fans were waiting – one was so enthusiastic he passed out and had to be […]

This coming weekend (September 16-18), the Formula 1 races will get your heart racing, and as usual, watch companies are big sponsors of the race, some with teams racing under their banner. Here is our selection of MUST ATTEND events. These are open to the public which YOU can attend to catch the…
Last week, we were invited to join IWC on this beautiful location at ‘Kasteel de Hooge Vuursche’ to have a look at the new IWC Ingenieur Chronograph collection. Although we already saw them earlier this year in Zürich during the Passione Caracciola (report can be found here), we wanted to have a closer look. Goodbye […]
When vintage-inspired watches are designed, the result can be a timepiece that looks removed from its history and context and feels lacking in substance. Not so with the IWC Hand-Wound Eight Days 75th Anniversary edition, which is a subtle mix of original styling and accurate sizing combined with improvements that don’t detract from the soul of the watch.
The use of bronze dates way back to the 5th Millennium BCE, with the oldest artefacts coming from the Iranian plateau during that era. Known for its durability at that time, bronze was widely used for a variety of items, including tools, weapons, and even ornamental products.…
