Introducing – Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Annual Calendar Monaco Edition

At the SIHH 2017, Ulysse Nardin introduced a watch that perfectly sums up what it stands for: a combination of marine roots with a cleverly designed movement, with simplification in mind. This watch was the Ulysse Nardin Marine Annual Calendar Chronometer. This year, in celebration of 9 years of loyal support for the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show, the brand introduces a dedicated limited edition based on this desirable watch, with a new style – and also a more attractive price.

Hands-On – The Bell & Ross Vintage Bellytanker Collection (BR V1-92 and BR V2-94)

In recent years, Bell & Ross enlarged its collections, as no longer only focused on military-inspired pieces like in the past but around several themes, such as Air, Marine or Racing. The latter has been widely used in the past collections, with watches inspired by Formula 1 (B&R is a partner of Renault F1) or specifically designed sports-cars. Today, the Parisian brand creates another speed-inspired piece, with original retro feelings. Here are the Bell & Ross Vintage BR V1-92 and BR V2-94 Bellytanker.

Introducing – MeisterSinger No. 01 City Edition, 45 Different Editions Paying Homage To Your Favorite City

MeisterSinger is a brand apart… Indeed, they are the only watchmaker to offer only watches with a specific display, based on the “single-hand” concept – in various sizes, in various styles, with or without additional features, but always with one hand only to indicate the time. This has become a hallmark for MeisterSinger. Today, if the Mono-Aiguille idea is still perfectly present, the brand is launching a refreshing concept, with no less than 45 different limited editions, the MeisterSinger No. 01 City Edition, each of them as a tribute to the cities where its retailers are based.

Frédérique Constant Updates the Slimline Moonphase Manufacture with New Display and Case

As we already showed you in several articles, Frédérique Constant watches have some impressive qualities. In fact, they allow collectors with a smaller budget accessing to a luxurious and elegant design, classical complications and even manufacture movements (as we showed you in our video report). This is what the brand calls “accessible luxury”. With this in mind, Frédérique Constant has decided to update one of its best-sellers, the discreet and elegant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture, with a new display – all of that being available in a relatively small case.

Women’s Watch Wednesday – GoS Watches Unveils All-New Sarek Ladies Line for 10th Anniversary

Having covered the watch and jewelry world as a journalist for more than three decades, I have had the great fortune of watching many start-up brands continue on to success. GoS Watches is one such brand. Highly unusual in its offerings, GoS Watches celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and in honor of that anniversary, the brand unveils its first timepiece dedicated to women: the GoS Sarek Lady.

Hands-On – Chopard L.U.C Heritage Grand Cru

While it is commonly accepted that watches are mainly round – a shape guided by the way time is indicated by hands – exceptions exist. Shaped-watches are not that usual and if some tried, only a few achieved. Mastering shapes is something complex, which requires a bit of talent. This year, Chopard is enlarging its L.U.C Collection (the high-end range of the brand) with a montre de forme or form-watch, based on the barrel idea… And indeed, behind this new Chopard L.U.C Heritage Grand Cru, there’s a certain wine inspiration – and overall a handsome watch.

Hands-On – The New Bulgari Octo Retro Maserati GranSport & GranLusso

This couldn’t be more of an Italian affair… Since 2012, the two Italian brands Bulgari and Maserati have sealed a partnership for the creation of dedicated watches, inspired by the world of luxury and sports cars. The first two editions, a complex Octo Quadri-Retro in 2012 and a bold Octo Velocissimo in 2014, were unsurprisingly equipped with chronograph movements. For their latest joint creation, the new Bulgari Octo Retro Maserati, we’ll have something completely different in terms of display, but still with proper sports-car inspiration behind.

Introducing – Oris Updates the Classic Date Collection With Slimmer, More Elegant Design

Watches are not always about a fancy design, complex movements and stacking dozens of features in a single piece of wrist-accessory. Don’t forget that most customers are looking for THE watch that will be strapped to their wrist on a daily basis, and not the tenth watch in their collection. Sometimes, it’s also good to look at more essential pieces, with a classical, slightly casual look – and yet, with the right dosage of mechanical pleasure. This is exactly what the Oris Classic Date Collection offers, and this year, this model sees an interesting evolution.

Review – The E.C. Andersson North Sea II, An Affordable And Robust Sports Watch

Today, we are going hands-on with an interesting new watch from a brand we first wrote about in 2016. Back then, Swedish brand E.C. Andersson was running a Kickstarter campaign to fund its first model, the military/marine inspired North Sea. As you may recall, the campaign was ultimately successful, and the first collection sold out. Now, the team are back with their second collection, the North Sea II, which looks very similar to the first version but features a number of subtle, yet important, updates. Given the popularity of the original model, keeping the same aesthetic is definitely not a bad thing. Read on for our detailed review of this comfortable yet robust timekeeper, that’s happily, still also very affordable.
