Hands-on – MeisterSinger Metris collection – Young, Fresh and Affordable

Meistersinger, the brand that offers (mostly) single-handed watches and that we’ve come to love, is stepping up its game in recent years. New movements, new complications, new concepts to display time with as few hands as possible and really staying true to their less-is-more approach to timekeeping. Last year saw the introduction of the unusual but cool Meistersinger Salthora Meta X dive watch and this year Meistersinger brings a new kid to their family of watches; the young, fresh and accessible Metris.

Introducing – MeisterSinger No. 01 City Edition, 45 Different Editions Paying Homage To Your Favorite City

MeisterSinger is a brand apart… Indeed, they are the only watchmaker to offer only watches with a specific display, based on the “single-hand” concept – in various sizes, in various styles, with or without additional features, but always with one hand only to indicate the time. This has become a hallmark for MeisterSinger. Today, if the Mono-Aiguille idea is still perfectly present, the brand is launching a refreshing concept, with no less than 45 different limited editions, the MeisterSinger No. 01 City Edition, each of them as a tribute to the cities where its retailers are based.

Hands-On with the Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve (And Its Great Looking Proprietary Movement)

Back in 2014, Meistersinger created the surprise by launching an unexpected watch, the Circularis. While the brand was already known for its quite unique display, based on the mono-aiguille concept, no one was awaiting them on the mechanical side of watchmaking… But they did, and they did well, with their first proprietary movement – and a nice looking one. Based on this, the collection has evolved, by adding an automatic version in 2016, and the Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve back at Baselworld 2017. Today, we take a closer look at this watch.

MeisterSinger Salthora Meta X – A Surprisingly Cool Single-Hand, Jumping Hour Dive Watch

At first, the new MeisterSinger Salthora Meta X sounded like a big surprise… But not one that we were expecting. In short, MeisterSinger was into single-hand watches with a classy / urban design but not into sports watches, and even less into dive watches. Yet, when you think about it for more than 5 seconds, you understand that this Salthora Meta X is just the natural development of the concept and one of the coolest ideas the brand could have had – and overall, an impressively well-thought timepiece. Let’s see why.

MeisterSinger Presents The “Peter Henlein” Edition, with Circularis Calibre, Gold Case… And A Gorgeous Antique-style Dial

Some rules are made to be broken. When you think MeisterSinger, you usually have in mind accessible watches (yet with automatic movements) and single-hand displays. Well, if that second rule is somehow a motto for the brand, the first one will be transgressed today… and we’re not complaining, as what you’ll see is a proper good looking watch. Here is the MeisterSinger Peter Henlein Edition, with proprietary Circularis Calibre, a gold case, a 5 digit price tag, a super-restricted limitation, and that crazy looking antique dial.

The MeisterSinger Salthora Meta Transparent – The Jumping Hour Made Visible and Accessible

Some of you might be like us, quite bored sometimes by the concept of the traditional watch, with traditional 3-hand display, on the traditional central axis, running on a traditional round dial. This is not a big issue, knowing that many watchmakers offer other displays of the time. However, not all of us can afford a MB&F or a MCT. This is why MeisterSinger, with their offer of single-hand watches (Circularis, Phanero, Neo…), might be under your scope already. Well, not bad already but you can even have more, as the brand introduced a watch that both features a single hand and a jumping hour (not that usual) and that features a sapphire dial to expose all the mechanics: the MeisterSinger Salthora Meta Transparent. Ready for the horology lesson?

Hands-On MeisterSinger Circularis Automatic Review

15 Years of MeisterSinger A few weeks ago, Gerard published an article on the 15th anniversary of MeisterSinger and its single-handed watch. You can find it here. A must-read for all fans of MeisterSinger watches. Today, I review the MeisterSinger Circularis Automatic (reference CC908). This watch comes in various executions, but I selected the Sunburst Blue version […]

Hands-On – The MeisterSinger Circularis Automatic… The single-hand goes self-winding and in-house

Most of you probably know THE main feature of MeisterSinger watches: the mono-aiguille / single-hand display. That alone is already enough to tickle our interest, linked to the fact that their watches are nice, elegant, quite unique and, best of all, rather inexpensive. What some of you probably don’t know is that since 2 years, the brand can also be called a manufacture, as they have their own in-house movement, the Circularis. This year, the upper-end offer of the brand evolves and turns into a self-winding movement. Here is the MeisterSinger Circularis Automatic – and for once, in-house really adds something more.

Meistersinger 15 Years Single Handed

Did you realise that it was 15 years ago that Manfred Brassler introduced his signature watch, the Meistersinger Scrypto 1Z Einzeigeruhr? Neither did I, and I don’t exactly know how to feel about it. On one hand the Meistersinger single handed watches to me feel like they’ve been here forever. I can’t remember that they […]
