Hands-on – Grand Seiko Heritage “Autumn” Hi-Beat Limited Edition SBGH269

I don’t know if you agree, but many people regard Grand Seiko as a very conservative, almost too technical brand. But of all the players that compete in that price segment (watches between EUR 4,000 and EUR 12,000) the only one that dares to do something truly different with its dials is precisely Grand Seiko. Hands-on – Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Transparente (and Some Details on How it Works)

The reassuring tick-tock of the table clock has by and large been replaced by more modern contraptions for telling the time. Sadly, table clocks, once a ubiquitous presence on the mantelpiece of many homes, have gone the way of drinks trolleys and soda siphons. However, there is one table clock that has survived the tide […]

Introducing – The New, Accessible and Colourful Doxa Sub 200 Collection

Certainly, we’ve seen some more colourful versions, in gold with a blue dial for instance – but still rather classic. So what […]

Introducing – IWC “Lewis Hamilton” Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar

Last year, I had the chance to interview F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton, just before the French Grand-Prix. Part of the discussion was, of course, his impressive racing results but also something more in line with our usual topics; watches. I asked him what if he had the opportunity to design his own IWC watch. He answered “red gold is my favourite (…) I love the Big Pilot’s watch, I love heavier watches (…) Most likely it would be a perpetual calendar (…) A watch as mechanical as possible.” Well, it seems that his idea came to life, with the new IWC “Lewis Hamilton” Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar.
