Tudor Pelagos LHD Yesterday, Tudor invited us for a lunch in Amsterdam. We understood that it had to do with a new introduction, but had no clue about what to expect. Exactly at 1pm, Tudor unveiled their latest, the Tudor Pelagos LHD. LHD stands for Left Hand Drive, for left-handed divers, meaning that the winding […]
The Rolex Submariner is a watch with an interesting story. Introduced over 60 years ago, the current Rolex Submariner model (updated four years ago) is a product of a long history and development. The similarities are clearly visible while the innovations are as well. A ceramic bezel, masculine case and solid bracelet with an easy-to-adjust folding […]
The big novelty from Rolex at Baselworld 2016 was… you named it: the Daytona Ceramic Bezel 116500LN – a very nice watch but, after all, a simple cosmetic evolution of an existing model. However, there was some more watches to discover. One stayed a bit under the radar, an evolution of the Yacht-Master, a watch that has never been favorited by Rolex purists. On the other hand, since last year, this model has been revamped by the Crown, with the introduction of the Everose / Ceramic version. While we were expecting it to be introduced in steel, Rolex decided differently, with the new Rolex Yacht-Master 116621 Two-Tone Everose Gold / Steel and Chocolate Dial. And it has some arguments…
The bonus season is around the corner, and many of us are already thinking of different ways to reward ourselves for the hard work and effort that we had put in this year. While there are various means to spend our bonuses, but Watch-Idiot-Savants (WIS) like us will probably use the money to get ourselves a new timepiece to add into our…
We previously brought you a Spot the Watch on Donald Trump Jr and his brother Eric Trump. Well just hours ago, their father Republican candidate Donald Trump was elected the next President of the United States in a major upset against Hillary Clinton. Again no politics just a focus on watches.…
Our Editor in Chief saw something interesting while watching the trailer for XXX: Return of Xander Cage starring Vin Diesel and Donnie Yen. Our resident Spotter analysed the trailer for further details and spotted a little scene that appears to be a nod to the watch of a certain Mr James Bond.…
Come next Wednesday, United States will elect their 45th President. Who will head one of the greatest countries in the world? Will it be Donald Trump, or Hillary Clinton?…
Today, we’re back with our traditional “5 Cool Finds”, however in a slightly different formula. No worries, the deal is still the same: 5 watches that we pick for you and that deserve your interest. What is different today is that we look at an auction, the 94th watch auction from Crott Auctioneers, a German auction house with great reputation. The sale, which will occur on November 12th, 2016, features no less than 673 lots but, then again, no worries, we’re here to help you and we found 5 watches that are properly cool: 2 rare and superb modern A. Lange & Söhne and 3 vintage chronographs that couldn’t be more iconic.
In our 3 previous episodes of “5 Cool Finds“, we’ve been looking at specific types of watches – multiple time-zones, super-complicated and dive watches. Probably, you’ve seen that in every article, there was at least one Rolex, and if you know your thing about watchmaking, you do understand why this brand is so well represented. Thus, instead of having one Rolex in a selection of 5 watches, we decided with our partner Chronext to focus this week only on this brand. That doesn’t mean we’re about to change our habits. You know the deal, 5 watches, all “youngtimers”, meaning not vintage but not in the collection anymore. What we have are 5 Rolex watches, from the last 2 decades, with that unique iconic flair and that are made to last a lifetime.
