With its Masterpiece collection, Maurice Lacroix has distinguished itself by creating unconventional complications – the Gravity, the Roue Carrée (squared-wheel), retrograde indications, the mysterious seconds… The brand is now infusing this spirit into its successful sporty collection with the Aikon Mercury, an original take on display, where hands are not always indicating the time.
Things go fast for Singer Reimagined. The brand was created just 2 years ago by Rob Dickinson, former singer for Catherine Wheel and founder of Singer Vehicle Design, and, Marco Borraccino, an Italian watch designer and entrepreneur. Their lofty objective is to reimagine high-end watchmaking, infusing classics with novel, unique perspectives and a focus on functionality… Just a few months after its presentation, their first watch, the Track 1 (an impressive chronograph) was awarded best Chronograph at the GPHG 2018, the Oscars of Swiss watchmaking. The second opus in the series has just been presented, the new Singer Reimagined FlyTrack.

There’s no denying that Oris has a strong background in diving watches. While the link between Anonimo and the world of Sea or military forces is relatively easy to catch, the brand has started recently to explore new horizons. For instance, the Florentine brand has partnered with the FIA World Rally Championship to create the Militare Chronograph WRC Special Edition. The revamped Santos was the star of the SIHH 2018 for Cartier and for multiple reasons, it was a success. Well designed, well equipped, well executed and relatively fair when it comes to the price, Cartier gave this iconic shape a slightly sportier (or let’s say more modern) touch and some nice details, such as a clever strap/bracelet system. Just before the SIHH 2019, this model appears now in the collection with a new dial. White is too shy for you? The new gradient blue version might be the answer then.
