You can imagine the strain that this puts on the watches that they are wearing. Staying true to its nautical legacy Ulysse Nardin teamed up once again with Artemis Racing for the upcoming edition of the America’s Cup.

Earlier this year we already introduced the stainless steel Ulysse Nardin Classico Manufacture with enamel dial, and we loved it, however we have not yet shown its sister (yes, a watch is female: la montre), the Classico Manufacture with blue sun-ray dial. The other day we were able to look more closely at this incredibly beautiful looking dress watch that has one downside: the dial is so appealing that people want to see your watch more closely all the time.
The retrograde indication is one of my favorite “Because We Can” (BWC) complications. Gears are an amazing invention and have allowed watchmakers to make incredible creations. Simple gear systems leave a multitude of openings for creativity. Look at some great examples of it here!
