Omega managed to exceed my expectations when I finally got my hands on the first ceramic-cased Planet Ocean which I’m reviewing here today. Debuted a few months after Baselworld 2016, the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT “Deep Black” carves yet another niche within the brand’s larger line of high-end Seamaster Planet Ocean diving watches.
On paper, the Oris Diver Sixty-Five’s eccentric design language seemed an odd first choice for a nü-vintage remix, but its relative affordability, conservative dimensions, and faithful attention to the detail from the quirky source material have proven to be the winning formula for Oris. So much so, the secret sauce has quickly been re-tapped for fresh color options, an all-new 42mm rendition with more traditional applied indices, and now this – a subtly revised special edition built in extremely limited numbers exclusively for Topper Jewelers.
I’ve been wanting to review the Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer watch since it was debuted back in 2009. Part of the larger Senator watch collection, the Senator Chronometer has a beautiful symmetrical dial design and wonderful feature set that make for an attractive and technically superior timepiece. Pictures alone don’t do the Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer justice because the real appeal here is what it is like to operate the movement.
