AMG. Three simple letters to most, but three special ones to others. Letters that stand for Aufrecht-Melcher-Grossaspach, but that is not the most important bit. The important bit is that they have been producing high-performance Mercedes cars for 50 years and have been integrated into the Mercedes brand for years now and can rely on many fans and supporters, often gathered in clubs or groups. Celebrating all things AMG, the Dubai based Group 63 club have collaborated with Halda Watch Co. 1887 to create the Halda Race Pilot Group 63 Limited Edition.
The Omega Seamaster Railmaster was one of the surprise hits of last year’s Basel fair. So it’s vaguely appropriate that as we’re busy speculating what we’ll see Omega release at Baselworld 2018, we look back on one of their hottest from last season. Not that we realised it at the time – the regular production Seamaster Railmaster was more of a slow burn. It’s a deceptively simple piece, lacking the hero status of its limited edition sibling, and somewhat lacking in obvious bells and whistles. Rather than being a weakness, this simplicity is the Railmaster’s greatest strength. Clean, pure design, of the sort that Omega excels at: classic, but with fine details — like the brushed dial and Railmaster text — that reward close inspection. But even though I’d be completely happy with this watch on my wrist, there’s a part of me holding out to see what gets unveiled next week …

HYT Watches creations are not known for being shy. Far, far away from that. Whether for their ultra-bold design and shapes or the unique and highly complex display of the time, everything transpires extremeness. In fact, the brand can even go up to 51mm in diameter for its watches, which include a large skull-head on the …
On the eve of Baselworld 2018, a look back at what the Fair was like in 1979.
A whimsical take on one of the most practical complications.
Last week, at the Geneva International Motor Show (where TAG also announced the Monaco Gulf Special Edition), Jean-Claude Biver (CEO of TAG Heuer and President of the LVMH Group Watches Division) and Andy Palmer (President and CEO of Aston Martin) announced that TAG Heuer has been chosen as Official Partner, Official Watch Partner and Official Connected Watch Partner of Aston Martin and Aston Martin Racing. That’s a mouthful… so let’s have a look at what interests us most: the new TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 Aston Martin
The story in a second: A value-packed chrono from one of the few remaining family-owned watch companies. It wasn’t all doom and gloom during the quartz crisis of the mid ’70s. While brands and manufacturers were disappearing left, right and centre, never to be seen again, others like Raymond Weil were only just starting out, which makes them a relative newcomer to the watch world. However, unlike many others, they’ve managed to remain independent and create a diverse catalogue that’s bursting at the seams with collections like the Freelancer. Introduced in 2007, it’s now one of the mainstays of their line-up, and is not only available in standard three-handed models, but also in multi-subdialled chronographs, like this stylish little black and red number we have here. The case If you’re familiar with the Freelancer range, then you’ll already be well acquainted with the sensibly sized 42mm stainless-steel case. It’s purposeful in its design, sitting at a very reasonable thickness of 13.85mm, with both the chronograph pushers and the crown able to be screwed down. However, it’s not just about functionality, as a wonderful blend of highly polished and satin-brushed surfaces add a touch of class, and thin bevelled lugs play a…
