Konstantin Chaykin Introduces the Most Complicated Clock ever made in Russia, the Moscow Comptus Easter Clock

There’s one question that always seems to come up at parties I attend; what do you give the Russian oligarch in your life that already has everything? Ok, so maybe that question doesn’t always come up and maybe I don’t know any Russian oligarchs (or attend parties for that matter) but I do happen to know the answer. Presenting the wonderfully elaborate Moscow Comptus Easter Clock by Konstantin Chaykin, the most complicated clock ever made in Russia.

We usually bring you our hands-on analytical reviews on the same day that embargo lifts. But for the MB&F HM8, we were not able to, even though the watches were in Singapore, we did not have access to have our hands-on and photography until the day after. Introducing: The Ulysse Nardin Classic Sonata, A Limited Edition With A Special Alarm Complication

Ulysse Nardin has just released a new limited edition, the Classic Sonata. It’s an alarm watch with cathedral gongs and dual-time function, making it far more complicated and intricate than your typical alarm. It’s a big, robust watch that has a semi-technical, semi-dressed-up aesthetic that translates much of the mechanical rigor of the movement straight through to the dial. Let’s take a closer look.

F.P.Journe Launches “Patrimoine”, a new service to acquire past collections, restored in-house

We, watch collectors, all know how difficult and risky it can be to purchase a used watch. How can I verify the authenticity of the watch? Are all the parts originals? How the desired watch has been serviced or worn? What amount of trust should I give to the seller? Is it a stolen watch? What warranty will it come with? Too many questions that some will never agree with and thus, you will stick to new watches. To counteract this issue, F.P. Journe just launched “Patrimoine”, a new service for collectors to enrich their collection by giving them the opportunity to purchase rare watches that are no longer manufactured (brass movement, unique pieces, limited editions…), entirely serviced, controlled and restored in-house. Interesting, right?

Here’s the next give-away, and it’s the third time we’re giving away a wrist watch. The watch that you can win is the from the new Seiko Presage collection, and to be precise it’s the Seiko Presage SSA303J1. This week I’m in Japan, visiting several Seiko manufactures where I’m learning more about the Seiko brand, the different collections, their way of manufacturing and technical aspects of… well, of so much actually. Over the coming weeks I will tell you much more about what I’ve learned and seen, however let’s first focus on the watch that you can win!

Emmanuel Bouchet Complication One New Watches For 2016 Hands-On

Back in 2015, I was pleased to debut the Complication One watch by the talented Mr. Emmanuel Bouchet on aBlogtoWatch. Over time, the Complication One concept and watch has grown on me quite a bit, but I have to admit I really wasn’t sure what to think of the watch when I first saw it.
