MMT E-Strap Smart Module Watch Straps

If you’re not familiar with Swiss MMT, they’re the folks behind the smartwatch technology in the connected watches from Alpina and Frederique Constant. But being tucked into a watch case is simply not all they want to do – instead, they want to be on your watch strap.

Hands-On: The Grönefeld 1941 Remontoire, With A Dial Made In Collaboration With Kari Voutilainen

I honestly thought Grönefeld would find it very difficult to improve on the 1941 Remontoire. This is a serious award-winning watch, after all. But I’ve just been proven wrong. The Dutch brothers have bested themselves with the introduction of a stainless steel model with an absolutely killer guilloché dial, made by Kari Voutilainen and sealed under a fine coat of enamel by Inès Hamaguchi. It’s a team effort, but it all comes together very coherently and to great effect.

Historical Perspectives: The Metropolitan Museum Of Art Makes Image Archives Public, Including Photos Of Thousands Of Clocks And Watches

The Metropolitan Museum of Art recently announced that it would make hundreds of thousands of public domain images and artworks contained in its vast collections, many of which are not on public view, available online. The enormous number of hours that could be lost to browsing those archives, and the unknown treasures to be discovered, I’ll leave to your imagination. But, among the archives are a huge number of images of clocks and watches that warrant more than a little exploration.

VIDEO – In Conversation with Laurent Ferrier – The Story of a Man & His Passion(s)

Great achievements are often driven by a passion. When you talk with Laurent Ferrier, it’s immediately evident that he is a man of passions… Yes, passions with an ‘s’, because as you’ll see in this video although Laurent’s career as a watchmaker started with his passion for watches, the story of Laurent Ferrier as a watch brand has been shaped by his second passion, cars. Haute Complication: Meet The Most Complicated Panerai Ever

Because the Radiomir 1940 Minute Repeater Carillon Tourbillon was announced three months after the SIHH of 2016, it was not officially part of the brand’s novelties of this year either. Fortunately, that didn’t stop Panerai for taking it to Geneva.

There’s a running joke here at HODINKEE that one of the most fundamental laws of watch journalism is, “everyone loves the Speedmaster.” It might sound like hyperbole, but in the case of the Speedmaster, however, it’s true. The Speedmaster is one of the most respected, revered, collectible, and beloved wristwatches of all time. So, for the watch’s 60th anniversary, we’ve got something pretty special planned for you.

Hands-On – The MB&F Legacy Machine LM2, now in Titanium (and that’s not the only update…)

When launched in 2013, the second iteration of the Legacy Machine Series, the MB&F LM2, introduced complexity not in the display but in chronometry, something that was actually rather new for Max and his team / friends. Indeed, MB&F Watches are usually very complex, but more to indicate the time in a different way. This LM2 was the reference point for the upcoming watches of the LM Series. Previously released in red gold, white gold and platinum (the latter being a limited edition linked to the usual bright blue dial). Today, MB&F announced the latest version of their dual balance watch, the Legacy Machine LM2, now in Titanium, with vivid green dial… and a few other tweaks to make it even better.

When Vacheron Constantin released news of their new “piece-unique” Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600 watch for SIHH 2017, my first impression was that unlike the Reference 57260 most complicated pocket watch ever created, the Ref. 9720C/000G-B281, most complicated wristwatch…
