Introducing: The Panerai PAM 671 Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo (Live Pics + Pricing)

When it was first released in 2011, Panerai’s Bronzo was a really big deal. It was a big deal to Panerai enthusiasts, who feel very strongly about the company’s diving history, and who unanimously enjoy the sight of a vintage piece that’s received a bit of abuse through the years. And it was also a big deal to Panerai itself, which was one of the first companies to faithfully recreate the time-weathered effect by finding the right mix of alloys for an appropriate bronze.

SIHH 2017 – Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Chronograph Perpetual Calendar – now available in Pink Gold

Back in September 2016 we told you about the launch of the revamped Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Chronograph Perpetual Calendar. An update to one of the brand’s more iconic models, the new ref. 5000T boasted a re-designed dial and an improved movement. At the time however it was only available in a platinum case, unlike its predecessor which was also available in rose gold. At SIHH 2017, Vacheron Constantin completes this evolution with the official unveiling of the ref. 5000T-000R, featuring a gorgeous 18K 5N pink gold case.

Introducing: The Longines Flagship Heritage 60th Anniversary 1957-2017

One of the most recognizable, classic, 1950s-Mad Men era wristwatches ever made is the Longines Flagship, which is as solid a representation of the iconic notion of a “men’s dress watch” and/or “a good Swiss watch” as anyone has ever seen (all that buy-in to the latter concept contributed in no small part to the demise of the American watch industry, but that’s a story for another day). It was 1957 when the first Flagship came out and these three new commemorative versions are about as picture-perfect as a vintage watch homage gets.

Live from SIHH 2017 – Vacheron Constantin Métiers D’Arts Copernicus Celestial Spheres

Métiers D’Art are deeply ingrained in Vacheron Constantin’s tradition. At SIHH 2017, the Geneva-based Manufacture is introducing a collection in tribute to Nicolaus Copernicus, the Polish mathematician and astronomer who heralded a scientific revolution, putting forward the theory of heliocentrism, overturning all existing beliefs. Three different versions bring different interpretations of the theme into three expressions of exceptional craftsmanship – all powered by a movement animating a fascinating reproduction of the earth rotations around the sun.

Just Because: A Solid Chocolate F.P. Journe Vagabondage III – The Best Swag Of SIHH 2017

So F.P. Journe just gave out a few dozen Vagabondage watches to selected press. No joke. The freebie was handed out after a presentation of Mr. Journe’s latest model, which you can read all about here, and they were carefully distributed by the man Francois-Paul himself. Ok, so technically speaking they’re made out of chocolate, but that only makes them even cooler – and possibly even more Swiss.

Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo PAM 671 Watch Hands-On

Panerai appears to be looking to replicate the success of the original green-dialed PAM 382 “Bronzo” from 2011 with the newly announced Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo PAM 671, or “Blue Bronzo” – a beautiful and worthy successor to the watch that put bronze into the luxury spotlight and ultimately helped make patina great again.

SIHH 2017 Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli – Automatic Skeleton

This year, Roger Dubuis showed us a couple of new pieces. But one of the pieces that we liked best, is this Excalibur Spider Pirelli. That’s right, Pirelli. A partnership with the sole sponsor of Formula 1. It isn’t just a ‘container’ partnership, but Roger Dubuis is actually using the rubber of F1 tyres. Used rubber, […]

SIHH 2017 – IWC Da Vinci Automatic 40mm

Like Brice already mentioned in our first Pre-SIHH 2017 coverage introducing the IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, IWC follows tradition and revamps an entire collection. We’ve seen such practice happening over the past 4 years and this year is no different. The Da Vinci collection gets revamped, and one of the new models is this IWC Da Vinci 40mm Automatic. Farewell to the tonneau case, welcome to the round case. Farewell to the modern interpretation of the Da Vinci, welcome to the inspired-by-the-original Da Vinci.
