Photo Report: Watch Spotting At SalonQP 2016

The French contingent of HODINKEE (Arthur Touchot and Louis Westphalen) was in London last week and spent the weekend at the sixth edition of SalonQP, London’s premier watch fair. If there were fewer big brands in attendance this year, there was no shortage of excitement. Between fresh faces showing off their new creations and a wealth of British watch companies announcing things like new movements, we had a ton to pay attention to. Of course we also had to scout the wrists of other attendees for some good old fashioned watch spotting. Enjoy.

There aren’t too many people in the watch world like Jeff Stein. The resource hosts an active forum, original stories (most authored by Stein), and an unparalleled level of information about all things vintage Heuer. In the case of HYT Watches, the latter felt like a natural choice, with both worlds aiming for performance, innovation and using materials worthy of a spaceship. Today, we are sharing with you our experiences during an ELMS race in Estoril, with HYT Watches and Panis-Barthez Competition, the brand’s latest sports-oriented partner.

Hands-On: The H. Moser Endeavour Dual Time Concept, And Concept Cosmic Green

Moser has been making waves lately, starting with the release of the Swiss Alp Watch last January at SIHH – and following up, more recently, with the Swiss Alp Watch S, which was intended to point out that the Swiss Alp Watch wasn’t just a throwaway gag, but also a serious statement about Moser’s identity, and about the identity (and identity crisis) of Swiss watchmaking overall. Some of the boldest designs in Moser’s lineup, interestingly enough, are also the simplest: the Concept watches (which, by the way, are not “concept” watches, these are actual production models) and which include time-only models, as well as a perpetual calendar, and dual-time watches.
