5 Cool Finds – Our Picks from the 94th Auction at Crott Auctioneers (Including hyper-exclusive Lange and vintage chronographs from Rolex, Omega & Heuer)
Today, we’re back with our traditional “5 Cool Finds”, however in a slightly different formula. No worries, the deal is still the same: 5 watches that we pick for you and that deserve your interest. What is different today is that we look at an auction, the 94th watch auction from Crott Auctioneers, a German auction house with great reputation. The sale, which will occur on November 12th, 2016, features no less than 673 lots but, then again, no worries, we’re here to help you and we found 5 watches that are properly cool: 2 rare and superb modern A. Lange & Söhne and 3 vintage chronographs that couldn’t be more iconic.

Ten years ago Hublot pioneered the black-on-black-on-black look in watches. Sure, it made it hard to read the time, but when your watch looked that cool who could care? They called it (appropriately enough) ‘All Black’ and this year they’ve released a number of special limited editions to celebrate. The standout is this not-so-stealthy Big Bang. Just don’t expect it to fly under the radar. Hublot Big Bang Unico All Black Sapphire Australian pricing and availability The Hublot Big Bang Unico All Black Sapphire, limited to 500 pieces, $81,300.

Amid an avalanche of stories, almost daily, of the plummeting sales of luxury timepieces , and with SIHH opening its doors to the public for the first time, while also inviting indie brands to display, it’s interesting to observe the lower price segment of the market in such a strong growth phase, thanks to excellent new events like the Wind-Up. Cheers to the co-founder of worn&wound Zach Weiss for filing this eyewitness report. worn&wound’s Wind-Up Watch Fair 2016 was a tremendous success. The 3-day long event pulled in over 15,000 attendees ranging from seasoned watch collectors to people just passing by, many of who left with a new watch or strap on their wrist, or one in the mail. This makes it the largest fair in the US and one of the largest globally, something…
