Hailing from Singapore, Ventus Watches has just launched its third model on Kickstarter. This follows two successful campaigns, both Flieger watches made from either brass or carbon fiber. It started as an endeavour to offer classic designs with our own unique twists to them.

The Rolex Veriflat exemplifies such rarity, being an ultra-thin Rolex produced only through the late 1950s. The Parisian brand Bell & Ross is most known for creating aviation inspired watches in a bold, squared style. Of course the collection consists of much more, including round cased watches, like the Vintage collection or the Aeronavale collection. Although most of these are still highly derived from avionics, Bell & Ross is also embarking into the world of automotive and racing-inspired watches. They have teamed-up with Renault F1 as an official timing partner for this year (more on that later in a dedicated chapter of our Watches and Formula 1 series) and now offer the BR-X1 RS16 and BR-X1 RS16 Tourbillon. We’ve had the chance to go hands-on, inside the Renault F1 facility in Enstone, the birthplace of Formula 1.
If a design can stand out from the crowd, then, at least for me, it is worth digging a little deeper. This was the case with Sartory-Billard and the RPM 01 watches. The unique curved design spoke to me, and along the way, I learned a lot about a brand that’s recently been busy creating some really interesting pieces in Paris.
This is the strangest feeling Friday in a very long time. For starters, I associate Friday with relaxing, with kicking back and maybe getting away. Given our blissful isolation, this week’s wind down has a distinctly tropical flavour – so serve with a passionfruit daiquiri and freshly sliced mango. What happened Patek fans – and PP brand competitors – that had been holding their breath since January could finally exhale… the 40th Anniversary Nautilus emerged (in the strangest of places, GQ magazine), big, blue and boldly engraved.
