“We made enough,” says Thierry Stern. There are no plans for a steel Nautilus 5811

Nautilus 5811During the farewell tour of the 5711 Nautilus, we were led to believe the model was bidding adieu from the catalogue – at least in its time and date only configuration. It was a bit of a drawn-out goodbye, with a final run of green dial 5711 watches that were then followed by a limited-edition … Continued

This is the first musical shoutout of Patek Philippe. And no, it’s not hip-hop, it’s prog-rock…

In the world of popular music, Patek references are all over hip hop, with mentions in rhyme from Jay-Z to Migos. But surprisingly, the first lyrical mention of the brand has nothing to do with rap. No, the first time “Patek Philippe” was heard in song comes from a ’70s British progressive rock supergroup finding … Continued

The Collector’s Series – @Watchesbelike Loves his Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A

Watch collectors uniting in a club-like manor is something that did not happen, or hardly, in main land Europe. Most European watch collectors prefer to fly under the radar and do not feel any urge to share their, often pretty expensive, collection with others. That is, until Instagram came along and made it easy to meet like-minded collectors, in complete anonymity. And that’s how I got in touch with @Watchesbelike. He’s a 34-year old finance professional and watch collector, who lives in Paris and can be found under this alias on Instagram. We exchanged quite a bit about watches in general, collecting and his love for his Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711a. Although he’s been asked to, he would never sell it. He explains why.

Recommended Reading – Thierry Stern On Why Stopping the 5711 and That “There will be a Farewell-Series of the Nautilus 5711”

While the brand didn’t officially communicate on this topic yet (it was known through the indiscretion […]
