The Moon 1969 watch, a Bovarro Swiss-made automatic timepiece, is on Kickstarter to celebrate the first lunar landing. Designed to resemble the hatch and knob on the Apollo 11 spacecraft, bezels and all, this is a watch that is both unique and functional.
TAG Heuer is making a play for space exploration history as the official timekeeper of China’s Mars Exploration Program. The announcement came this week in Beijing as TAG Heuer CEO and branding wizard extraordinaire Jean-Claude Biver celebrated with scientists and officials of the China National Space Administration the unveiling of the exterior design of China’s first Mars rover. TAG Heuer is a sponsor of the program, and the planned 2020 Chinese mission to Mars will include a TAG Heuer timepiece on board.
This fall, TAG Heuer will be offering something unique along with its Formula1 S3 watch: a ticket a zero-gravity flight taking off from Switzerland with Swiss Space Systems (S3).
The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Alaska Project reference 311.32.42.30.04.001 was the limited edition Speedmaster watch model that Omega introduced at Baselworld 2008. It happens to have one of the most interesting “limited-edition stories” among the modern limited-edition Omega Speedmaster Moonwatches, in my opinion, and it happens to look really cool.
