Hands-on – Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Day-Date Steel – Cool, Calm and Collected

As you know, our first impressions of the 2018 launch of the Fiftysix collection were mixed. Introduced as the brand’s more casual collection, with steel options and automatic movements, and choice of complications. The Fiftysix taps into the ongoing trend for vintage-style watches by taking inspiration from a VC model of 1956 and has lightened up the […]

Interview – Cory Richards, his Attempt to Blaze a New Route up Mount Everest and a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Prototype…

Cory Richards is an exceptional individual. Part of Vacheron Constantin’s campaign “One of not Many”, Richards was a brilliant kid, dropped out of school, got into alcohol… and became the first American to summit an 8,000m peak in winter time. Some have a special pedigree, and Vacheron Constantin‘s models play in a different league (see the new Blue FIFTYSIX for instance). Today, an emblematic model from the Patrimony collection dons a midnight blue shade especially created for the line.

Review – Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon 6000V

Vacheron Constantin expands its Overseas collection with the introduction of a sophisticated tourbillon complication. The first tourbillon model to debut in the Overseas collection, the complication injects a dose of Haute Horlogerie spectacle to the mix without jeopardising the solidity of a luxury sports watch designed for everyday wear. Presented in a stainless steel case with a striking blue dial and expected high-end finishes, the watch is fitted with Vacheron Constantin’s self-winding ultra-thin calibre 2160 and, like its fellow Overseas models, brings versatility to the table with three interchangeable bracelets/straps.

A Technical Perspective – Understanding the Concept of Multiple-Regulator Watches

The presence of one single heart is ingrained in our idea of biology and… watchmaking. In order to live – or to indicate the time accurately – one only need a single beating heart. But there are a few creatures with multiple hearts. And more and more watches come with multiple regulators – for different reasons. It is time to understand what multiple regulating organs can add to a watch.
